Careage Management announces purchase of nursing facilitiesCareage Management Adds Care Centers in Rolfe, IA and West Bend, IA Date -- February
15, 2000 Sioux City – Careage Management CEO, Dan Myers, announced the purchase of four area nursing facilities. The most recent acquisitions occurred this month with the purchase of West Bend Care Center in West Bend, Iowa and the Rolfe Care Center in Rolfe, IA. Careage Management has been operating the Hilltop Care Center in Cherokee since October, 1999 and the Colonial Manor in Randolph, Nebraska which was purchased earlier this year. Careage also is under contract to manage Hallmark Care Center in Sioux City Myers,
along with business partners and
long time friends, Greg Grupp of Sioux City and Jim Schulte of Omaha,
established Careage Management, LLC in 1999 to own and operate nursing homes in
the Sioux City vicinity. The
long-term care industry has experienced significant consolidation and sell out
to large corporations. Myers believes that this has created a niche for the
small operator. In that same light,
Myers adds that Careage Management intends to remain small in order to deliver
the “personal touch.” Myers
makes frequent visits to each of the facilities and is a familiar face to both
the residents and staff. “Our
goal for Careage Management is to provide the highest standard of care and
service possible,” he states. “We
owe that to our staff, our residents and the communities we serve.
Our physical presence in each facility hopefully will augment the high
level of care and services.” Careage has a strong desire to operate in smaller communities. Schulte put it this way, “We recognize a continued need for long term care in small town communities and we value the work ethic and compassion of the care givers that we find there.” Also, Myers brings to the partnership, over twelve years of experience in the long-term care industry. “His compassion for the staff and residents coupled with his wealth of experience will contribute greatly to the success of Careage Management,” added Schulte.
